Mr. Pat Frederick began his study of music as a profession in 1963. Majoring in woodwinds, he received both a B. S. and an M. Ed. in music education from West Chester University and subsequently taught for 32 years in the public schools of Pennsylvania. He was the instrumental director and Fine Arts chairperson at Twin Valley High School in Elverson, Pennsylvania until he retired from public school teaching in 1999. During his tenure at Twin Valley, Mr. Frederick was in charge of the school’s concert, marching and jazz bands and directed them through many successful performances at music festivals and contests both locally and throughout the US and Canada. Additionally, Pat played woodwinds and keyboards professionally for over 40 years, performing in numerous concerts and at nightclubs, colleges and private affairs in the tri-state area. During this time he had the opportunity to appear on the same playbill with such diverse celebrities as Dionne Warwick, Patti LaBelle and Woody Herman as well as classic groups such as the Duprees, the Coasters, the Tymes, Danny and the Juniors and The Flamingos among others.
Recently he has been adjudicating school music festivals and competitions and writing original music. He has been teaching at Moretti Music since October of 2001.
